In 1960, the average maximum benefit paid by insurance carriers was $1,000 per year in the Middle Tennessee area.  Currently the average is still approximately $1,000 per year.

Can this be true?  Yes! An ever-increasing number of patients cannot gain access to needed dental services because the maximums have not even kept pace with inflation.  That’s why there is usually an out of pocket expense.

Different employers select the dental insurance for their employees. They can usually choose to have higher maximum benefits. Most companies do not. Dental insurance is usually a benefit or perk of a job and is separate from the medical insurance counterpart.
